Growing Your Own Veg and Herbs with The Plot Thickens

Join us with gardener Kev Banks to learn all about growing your own vegetables and herbs!

Kev will be sharing his story of learning over 17 years to produce fruit & vegetables for a small mountain chamber d’hote, after which he returned to live in the Scottish Borders and set up a vegetable & herb nursery, and market garden, to provide plants and produce for the local community and farmers markets.

Kev will describe the way he created his plot at The Plot Thickens on the Carolside estate, the methods used, and the process of trial and error which has led him to the knowledge of how to grow many varieties of veg & herbs. Kev will also share how his enterprise has allowed him to connect with others in horticulture, fellow traders, and most importantly, his local community and the general public. As interest grows for locally sourced food and garden plots, Kev believes sharing knowledge and learnings is key to creating the connections and friendships which strengthen our communities and our gardens.
